Graham has been a relatively recent arrival coming with his family in the mid-1940s, initially to Wānaka, then Hāwea Flat and lastly to Luggate.
Graham discusses schooling, social and sporting activities, building the Hāwea Dam, transport and roading development, and evolving changes in farming practices particularly with the advent of irrigation and increasing mechanisation.
Graham is known for his knowledge of local history - in particular interpreting local the mining sites and methods. He is committed to his community, contributing to multiple groups and projects in the area. He has been an astute observer of the influence of national and international events over this period and their effect on the Upper Clutha community.
