Anne moved to Wānaka in 1994 not knowing anyone but her sister, who had just bought Wānaka Wines and Spirits. She developed a very satisfying life through joining groups such as Wānaka Walking Group, Waiorau Nordic Ski Club, Photography Club; involvement in Church and volunteering activities plus completing 8 Cavalcades. Anne talks about the 1999 Wanaka floods which removed the labels from all the wine bottles in the shop and volunteering at Warbirds Over Wānaka, selling piklets with jam and cream.
