Don Robertson

Don Robertson spent his first decade amongst the valleys and lakes of the Upper Clutha. He returned many years later and applied his vast scientific knowledge and experiences to work with the Guardians of Lake Wānaka and later, WAI Wānaka. In this interview, Don provides some background to the formation of the Guardians. He is a keen observer of the lakes’ microscopic and observable plant life, a champion for the role of research and data to truly understand our lakes, and an advocate for preserving the quality of water for future generations.
