Peter Rollo
Topics: Family life, construction, conservation, holidays
In these interviews Peter regales us with stories of his life as a young boy helping his insurance manager dad build their typical Kiwi family “crib” on the shores of Bremner Bay in Wanaka in the 1960s. He reflects on his insights about the building process over nearly two decades and his own significant hands-on involvement, as well as his more recent careful and considered re-use of the site for his own retirement home. He describes the typical holiday experience of Kiwi children in the 1960s, and expresses the strong desire that efforts be made to monitor and improve the environment for future generations.
